Emmalynn Paints the Outfield With Three Doubles in Wheelersburg Rout

If Tallmadge left any grass uncovered, Emmalynn C. found it.

Not once. Not twice. Three different times.

She went to center field. Then right. Then left.

Every outfielder had something to chase.

By the time her third double blasted to the outfield, the only mystery left was how big the final score would become.

Fifteen runs later, there wasn't much left to wonder about.

And while Emmalynn's three doubles deserved the spotlight, they were only the brightest stats in an offense that refused to settle when extra bases were available. Wheelersburg stacked eight extra-base hits—including four doubles before the first inning was even over.

Tallmadge actually survived the top of the first with a little confidence from a two-out double. But that feeling lasted for half-an-inning.

Morgan C. reached to start the bottom half, and Emmalynn immediately turned the first hittable pitch she saw into another extra-base hit. Audrey S. followed with a double of her own. Brynn W. lined an RBI single.

A couple of patient walks stretched the inning even further before Brynnli G. emptied the bases with a ringing triple that blew the game wide open. Six runs crossed before the third out finally arrived.

The scary part? They weren't finished.

The second wave looked a lot like the first. Morgan ripped a double. Emmalynn answered with another. Audrey delivered again. Walks kept the line moving. Runners kept taking the extra base. By the time the inning ended, the lead had grown to 9-0, and the lineup still looked like it had gas in the tank.

While all of that was happening, Reese G. was making the game move in fast-forward.
After allowing a two-out double in the first, she gave Tallmadge almost nothing the rest of the afternoon. Three straight hitters went down swinging or looking in the third, putting an exclamation point on a five-strikeout, no-walk outing.

But Wheelersburg still wasn't finished. Four straight walks opened the third before the lineup started swinging again. Emmalynn lashed her third double of the afternoon, Audrey reached once more, and Reese S. drove home the final two runs with a sharp single to right.

Some wins belong to one superstar. This one belonged to an entire lineup that kept passing the baton, with Emmalynn's three doubles serving as the headline for an offense that turned nearly every hard-hit ball into another problem Tallmadge couldn't solve.
